Medical Research

This is a relatively new arm to Clyde's Polo Kit.

While there are no specific links to the sport of Canoe Polo, this is simply a means for making products/services commercially available.

As an Electronics Technician in the Institute of Neurology, London, I am often asked to design and manufacture all sorts of strange items for people outside my own medical research group - many, which are very specific in their initial application, but then can have a wider range use outside the initial application.

These components/devices, following the initial proven use can then prove their use around the world wide medical research community and save reinventing the wheel so to speak.

In time, more products will follow.

Following lots of trial and error, a suitable MRI compatible and mouldable foam product has been found.

This particular application was based on being asked to supply a Head Support to fit inside a head coil of a patient MRI scanner.

Due to this product being for a currently unpublished scientific research project, much of the details about this product can not be disclosed, however, this illustrates the potential for moulded products.

These Electrodes were developed as a means of precise pain stimulation. Nicknamed the WASP Electrode for it's sting when used with a Digitimer DS7 stimulator. However, Any stimulator could be used.

Now supplied to several institutions across Europe, due to persistent demand they have been remodelled and new supplies should be available from early February 2008. These pictured are the older version.

On a thin PCB substrate, the gold plated ring track ensures minimal nerve recruitment from the central platinum point.
